This little gem of an RPG is often overlooked by many gamers. The truth is, despite all the shortcomings this game has, it still manages to strike across gamers with a feeling of "hardcore". This game definitely deserves a fair voice for its cause.
Graphics [6.5/10]:
One of this game's shortcomings. The strong semi-3D over-world graphics is very nice. Eye candy at its time of its release. But things soon break down after you enter a battle. The battle background is done with minimal detail and consist of mostly repeated graphic tiles. The monster graphics are okay but certainly nothing spectacular. Standard menus provide easy-to-read options. Overall, pretty standard graphics with a low-key in battles.
Sound & Music [6/10]:
Definitely not one of the strong points of this game. The musical score tried desperately to be something of epics proportions, but it only comes across as an imitation to some better music tracks such as Final Fantasy series. This game, in short, could've used more work in its audio department.
Gameplay/Fun Factor [7/10]:
Being an avid RPG fan, I can look past the external imperfections and enjoy the game's core-materials. This is a very good RPG. Although it doesn't take even half of the Super Nintendo's processing power, it's still a good RPG if you pretend you're playing it on a regular Nintendo. Just think of this game as a Nintendo RPG with advanced 3D-imitation abilities. If you manage to do that, you would find a very enjoyable RPG at heart.
Conclusion/Overall [6.25/10]:
This game deserved an above-average score. After playing this game for quite a while, although I must admit it's not nearly as enjoyable as Final Fantasy 6 or Chrono Trigger, but still it's an enjoyable game in its own right. So open up your heart and enjoy this game. You just might be surprised.
